Who operates this site
Free Wuxia World at freew.org is operated by Pengfan Chang. This policy describes the information the website stores and how advertising on freew.org works.
For questions about this policy, use the support address below. Do not send passwords, recovery phrases, wallet secrets or private save files.
This website is not directed at children. Creating a character means playing an adult. We do not knowingly collect account information from children.
Information we store
You can play without an account. Guest progress and settings stay in browser storage on your device. Export a JSON file if you want a portable copy. Clearing this site’s data in the browser removes those local copies.
An optional account stores a random account code, a salted password verifier when you use a password, a recovery verification value, any linked wallet address, an optional unverified contact email, and cloud saves you choose to upload. The sign-in cookie is named freew_session. It is HttpOnly, lasts 30 days, and is used only to keep you signed in. The server stores a hash of that cookie, not an advertising identifier. No email is sent, including for password recovery.
The connecting IP address is used to run the site and to limit abusive request rates. Rate-limit records are short-lived counters for a five-minute window. They are not an advertising profile. If a cloud upload conflicts with the current revision, both copies are kept.
Optional donations open on Ko-fi, Liberapay, IssueHunt or NOWPayments. Those services process the payment. This site does not receive your card number.
The iOS app does not load advertising or a tracking SDK. In that app, a password account can be permanently deleted. Deletion removes the website account, linked wallets, sessions, cloud saves and conflict copies. Files already stored on a device stay until you delete them. An Apple purchase is not deleted with the account.
Advertising
freew.org uses Google AdSense to show ads on every page of this website, including game and account pages. The ad script loads only when the host is freew.org. Blocking ads, or refusing personalized ads, does not prevent play. The game has no purchases and no paid advantages.
Third party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on a user’s prior visits to this website or other websites. Google’s use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to users based on their visit to this site and/or other sites on the Internet. As a result of ad serving, those third parties may place and read cookies on your browser, or use web beacons, IP addresses or similar identifiers, to deliver ads, limit how often an ad is shown, measure ads and reduce fraud. Advertising cookies may be associated with doubleclick.net or other Google domains.
Visitors in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland are asked for consent through Google’s consent message where the law requires it. That message names the advertising partners that may receive personal data, and it is where you can refuse or withdraw consent. Google may also allow its commonly used ad technology partners to serve and measure ads. Those partners, and how they use data, are identified on the Google pages linked below.
You may opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Ads Settings. You may also opt out of a third-party vendor’s use of cookies for personalized advertising by visiting www.aboutads.info. The same choice is available through the Network Advertising Initiative and Your Online Choices, linked below. We do not sell account records or save files. The advertising described here may share cookie identifiers and IP addresses with Google and its advertising partners so they can serve and measure ads.
Your choices
You can export your saves, sign out, clear this site’s data in your browser, and remove the optional email from your profile. Refusing personalized ads does not stop the game.
